About Us
Welcome to KAISHO AKITA'S Our names are Craig and Malisa Moffat and we live on the
Our passion for
There is not another breed in our eyes that has the presence and beauty of an Akita. We had a breeder in the area many years ago and he had offered us a companion Akita but we had our Rottweilers and did not have the facilities to own another dog. Our Rottweiler’s were a great joy to our life they protected our home and were great companions. Ninja was a hero he prevented a serious robbery next door and the neighbours in the whole street appreciated their presence. It was always our aim to own an
Alas out Rottweiler bitch Kaisho was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2003 and not given many months to live. I searched the breeders and Annette from dogs4sale pointed me in the right direction. We made an appointment to meet with Adrienne and Bryan Holzapfel from Pinemist they had a beautiful puppy show bitch for sale. This was an exciting litter for Bryan and Adrienne as the sire was MULTI BEST IN SHOW WINNER Grand Champion Knobe Chewbakka. Chewbakka is the perfect show dog loves to entertain the spectators around the ring. We fell in love with our Bella she is a very special dog to us Bella loves everyone and has the same traits as her sire. Bella was a show bitch and Adrienne suggested we give dog showing a go. Our Bella is a fabulous show dog and loves showing her self off. Bella's Sire Aust Grand Champ Knobe Chewbakka is still the most successful Well we were bitten by the show bug and enjoyed exhibiting. Bella was titled at 19 months and we have not looked back. I am not saying it was easy Craig has had to learn how to handle an Akita in the show ring not an easy task for a beginner, as Akita's are not an easy breed to show for a novice as they are independant thinkers. This is where Patrica Green and Michael Johnson were amazing they taught us how to show and are great friends and mentors, they still watch us exhibit to this day. And Craig is still learning trying to improve his ring craft . Michael and Patricia have had some great success in the show ring with their beautiful gun dogs. I also had to learn how to groom. Adrienne has taught me well. It was thru Adrienne and Bryan we acquired Mason. In 2005 Alan Molan of renowned Lanzeon Akita's in
Alan Molan has been involved with the show scene and akita's for many years. Alan has bred and owned some of the most beautiful Akita's in Australia. Dr Sophia of Tamarlane has bred some of the most famous Akita's in America and is very involved in the Akita breed in America. Mason was a truly stunning puppy bone colour and conformation with a beautiful head. Alan Molan is also a great mentor and friend and we value his support and advice. Mason gained his Australian title at 18 months with limited showing. Sadly Ninja developed an aggressive cancer in April 2006 and he passed on at nearly 12 years old within a month of being diagnosed. We still miss Ninja and Kaisho and they are forever in our hearts. Both Bella and Mason still look for Ninja out in the front yard. We are proud of our
Bella is a Multi Class in Group winner. Mason is a Best in Group winner and Multi Reserve In Group winner and Class In Group Winner. Mason although a beautiful male
Mason has lots of personality and is a favourite among the general public that visit shows he is always ready for a pat or hug or for the admiration, from babies to adults as many people do not know what an Akita is and they are amazed at his great nature and outgoing disposition.
The future is promising for this young male. In 2008 after a long wait we welcomed our new addition Shinano Hell Raiser (Delta) into our home. Delta comes from Julia Jones and Gary Freestone and we are so very pleased and proud they decided to send us one of their very best. Craig and I are so pleased and proud of Delta's amazing show results. Delta is having Lot's of fun in the show ring. Delta is a spunky lovable girl with personality plus and she loves the show ring. Delta is a muti class in Show and Group winner with multiple placings and at 7 months Delta was awarded Reserve In Group so we are very excited for this beauitful girls future. We thank the many Judges who have awarded our Akita's attributes in the show ring. All dogs are treasured family members who just love people and are healthy and happy dogs. We have made many friends whilst exhibiting and enjoy the atmosphere and the social aspect it takes us away from our working week. We have also made many Akita and showing friends via email overseas and in Australia we enjoy the contact and hope to meet them all one day. Akita's are not for the inexperienced dog owner, but a properly trained socialized and most of all loved Akita is an absolute dream to share you life with. We thank Adrienne and Bryan Holzapfel for all their support and they are our true mentors, Alan Molan is also a great wealth of advice and information and support and we are forever grateful for the beautiful boy he sent to us. A special thanks to dear friends Julia and Gary from Shinano for Delta she is an amazing flashy girl and we are so very proud of her achievements to date. We are proud to class our breeders as friends and mentors.
We thank the respective breeders with out them our kennel would not be possible it is due to the quality of our dogs we as novices have had so much enjoyment in the conformation show ring. Hope you enjoy our web site. It is still a work in progress. Please feel free to contact us with any enquiry and sign our guest book !! Malisa & Craig Moffat
